Scarlet Reflection

Limited Edition Paperweight

A bright red flower with a single teardrop bubble suspended above.

Design Inspiration: floral

Details

Method: The single bubble is blown up with compressed air then the rich red glass colour melted below, a metal tool the shape of the flower is then used to push the red colour up towards the bubble. Another layer of glass is taken from the furnace and the green leaves formed, large green colour chips are melted into the base and the whole piece shaped with a wet newspaper pad. Once cool the facets and fan cuts are cut and polished on diamond wheels.
