Blue Lotus

Limited Edition Paperweight

Striking blue flower above a Multi coloured chipped base.

Details

Lapis blue colour powder is used to create the striking blue flower, a metal mould in the shape of a lotus flower pushes the blue colour inside the glass. Jade green leaves are pushed in around the flower using a metal 'leaf' tool then multi coloured chips of glass are picked up underneath the flower and melted in. The whole piece is then encased in clear glass and shaped with a newspaper pad before being put into the kiln to cool. When cool the cuts and facets are ground and polished using diamond encrusted wheels and discs.
